DeskReps for macOS and iPhone
Something not working, or an exercise you wish existed? Email admin@anapps.biz. It reaches a person. Including your app version (Settings → Version) and whether you're on Mac or iPhone saves a round trip.
Common questions
It isn't counting my reps
DeskReps needs to see your face (or your shoulders) clearly:
- Check the camera permission. macOS: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera. iPhone: Settings → DeskReps → Camera.
- Give it light. A window behind you turns you into a silhouette; the detector needs your face lit from the front.
- Sit back for shoulder routines. Shoulder exercises need your head and shoulders both in frame, so the app asks you to sit back and waits until it can see you. Neck and eye exercises ask you to come closer again.
- Move deliberately. Reps count on the full movement, not a nudge. If the count isn't advancing, try a slower, larger turn.
I'm not getting break reminders
Reminders only fire while a work session is running. That's deliberate, so the app stays quiet in the evening. Start a session, then check two things: Settings → Reminders → "Notify me when a break is due" is on, and the system is allowing notifications (macOS: System Settings → Notifications → DeskReps. iPhone: Settings → DeskReps → Notifications).
Can I change how often it interrupts?
Yes. Settings → Reminders → "Break every" sets your default. You can also tap the interval chip beside the start button to run one session at a different length without changing that default.
Can I turn the voice off?
Not from inside the app, and that's on purpose for now. Several exercises put your head or your eyes away from the screen, so the spoken cue is the only thing telling you what to do and when a rep counted. Muting it would leave those routines with no feedback at all. Lowering your system volume still works if you need silence, and on iPhone you can keep the per-rep taps by leaving Settings → Sound & haptics → Haptics on.
You can change who is speaking: Settings → Sound & haptics → Coach voice. Tap a voice to hear a sample.
Does it record or upload video?
No. Camera frames are analysed on your device and discarded; nothing is written to disk and nothing is sent anywhere. See the privacy policy.
Do my Mac and my iPhone share my streak?
Yes. Your breaks, streak, weekly total, settings and any routines you've built sync through your own iCloud account, so the two apps are one app. It needs you to be signed into iCloud; signed out, each device just keeps its own history and everything still works. It's all in your iCloud account, and we can't read it. To remove the synced copy, use Settings → iCloud → Remove iCloud data.
DeskReps Plus
What's in it?
The free app is the whole loop: break reminders, the camera verification, the streak, widgets, the Live Activity, every coach voice, and the Neck Reset routine. Plus adds the rest of the routine library, the builder for composing your own routine out of the shipped exercises, past-weeks stats, and app blocking during sessions on iPhone and iPad.
I bought Plus and the app doesn't know
Open the Plus screen (Settings → DeskReps Plus) and tap Restore Purchases. A purchase follows the Apple Account signed in on the device rather than a login, so this just re-checks that account. Refunds are handled by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Blocking apps during a session (iPhone and iPad)
Turn on Settings → App blocking → "Block apps during sessions", allow Screen Time access when iOS asks, then pick the apps and categories to hold. Nothing is blocked until you pick something, and the row says so if you haven't.
While a session runs, opening a blocked app shows a DeskReps screen instead. "Back to work" dismisses it. "Turn off blocking" ends blocking for the rest of that session, and it is one way on purpose: it cannot switch itself back on mid-session. Start your next session to get it back.
There is no macOS equivalent. Apple provides no sanctioned way for a Mac app to do this, so the Mac shows no blocking settings at all.
Data requests
There is nothing about you on our side to export or delete. Your history and settings live on your device and sync through your own iCloud account, where only you can read them — we have no way to see them. Deleting the app removes the local copy; to remove the iCloud copy as well, use Settings → iCloud → Remove iCloud data in the app first. Crash, performance and first-run setup reports go to Sentry and contain no personal information (see the privacy policy). If you'd like any of that confirmed in writing, email admin@anapps.biz.
